Cristal Cruz

Senior Paralegal

Cristal is an immigration paralegal at Valverde Law, where she has proudly collaborated with Attorney Valverde since 2013. Before joining Valverde Law, Cristal refined her skills as a legal assistant at the law firm of Valverde & Rowell PC, gaining valuable experience in the immigration field.

With her roots in Mexico and a childhood spent in Chesapeake, Virginia, Cristal brings a unique perspective to her work. Clients appreciate her attentiveness and dedication, often recognizing her efforts and expressing gratitude for her work.

Cristal's years of commitment to Valverde Law clients and her deep understanding of their needs make her a foundational asset to the Valverde Law team.  Cristal is fluent in both Spanish and English.

Cecilia “Ceci” Salmeron

Office Manager

Cecilia, affectionately known as “Ceci,” is the Office Manager at Valverde Law and has been a vital part of the Valverde team since 2018. She oversees the front office staff, ensuring seamless daily operations while also managing client billing with efficiency and care.

With a strong background in customer service and management, Ceci gained valuable experience in the banking industry and as a former restaurant owner, where she honed her leadership and problem-solving skills. Her dedication to client satisfaction is evident in her attentive approach and commitment to excellence.

Originally from Ayacucho, Perú, Ceci is fluent in both Spanish and English. She is the primary for interpreting for our non-Spanish-speaking team members, ensuring clear and accurate communication in legal matters. Ceci is an important and respected part of the firm, playing a key role in its smooth operation and continued success.


Nyah Chisolm 

Paralegal

Nyah joined the Valverde Law family in 2022 as a legal assistant, bringing a solutions-oriented mindset to the team. Born and raised in the U.S. with roots in the Philippines, she quickly made a significant impact, immediately boosting productivity and efficiency. Her ability to analyze information and think critically has been a key factor in her success.

Before joining Valverde Law, Nyah developed her communication and analytical skills through years of retail customer service experience and education. She earned her bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a minor in Cybersecurity from Old Dominion University in 2024.

Nyah is highly regarded by clients for her approachable demeanor, responsiveness, and her ability to understand and address their needs. Known for her strong work ethic and commitment to exceptional client service, Nyah has become an invaluable contributor to the firm.


Sierra Curney

Paralegal

Sierra started as an administrative assistant in 2023, and through her unwavering dedication, exceptional intellect, and remarkable ability to quickly master new skills, she was chosen for a well-deserved promotion to paralegal.

Before joining Valverde Law, Sierra served as a Legislative Aide for the Virginia Beach City Council, where she gained valuable insights into local governance and community engagement. She earned her bachelor's degree in International Studies and Hispanic Studies from Virginia Wesleyan University, consistently maintaining a spot on the Dean's List or President's List. Her time in college included a transformative experience studying abroad in Spain.

Currently, Sierra is pursuing her master's degree in Human Rights Practice. Her blend of experience, education, and dedication makes her an irreplaceable contributor to the Valverde Law team.


Betty Susana Pancho

Records Manager

Betty joined the Valverde Law family in 2023, bringing her initiative and strong organizational skills to the team. With roots in both Peru and the Philippines, Betty was raised in the Virginia Beach area.

As an integral team member, Betty manages client records and handles the receipt and processing of incoming mail. Betty will often communicate with clients when receipt notices, work permits, and other important documents arrive, providing key updates in their immigration process.

Currently, Betty is pursuing her bachelor's degree in Forensic Science at Liberty University, demonstrating her commitment to education and professional development. Betty is fluent in both English and Spanish, and is a highly valued and respected member of the firm.


Evelyn Rodriguez

Administrative Assistant

Evelyn joined the Valverde Law team as the Intake Specialist in 2024.  She has since transitioned to the position of Administrative Assistant, having displayed exceptional skills, understanding of the immigration journey, and the ability to engage with clients.  

Before joining Valverde Law, she gained valuable experience in management and customer service, which enhanced her ability to address client needs effectively. Evelyn earned her Associate's Degree in Engineering from Tidewater Community College and is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at ODU.

Originally from Veracruz, Mexico, Evelyn is fluent in both English and Spanish. Evelyn's own experience and dedication to helping others makes her a vital asset to the Valverde Law team.


Norelys Diaz Rivera

Intake Specialist

Norelys joined the Valverde Law family in 2025 as the Intake Specialist and is the first point of contact for most of our prospective clients. Kind and empathetic, she ensures a welcoming and supportive experience from the very first conversation.

Norelys holds a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences with a concentration in Forensic Psychology, giving her an understanding of human behavior and the challenges clients may face. Before joining our team, she gained extensive experience in customer service, data entry, and office administration. 

Originally from Puerto Rico, Norelys is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing her to connect with our diverse range of clients.


Aibel Ortiz

Receptionist

Aibel joined the Valverde Law family in 2025 as the firm's receptionist, serving as the first point of contact for clients and visitors. Originally from the Dominican Republic, she earned a bachelor's degree in law before migrating to the United States in 2013.

Prior to joining Valverde Law, Aibel worked for three years as a receptionist and administrative assistant at the law firm of Dru Claudia Wicker, Esq., where she honed her skills in client relations and office management. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to supporting the immigrant community, providing guidance and assistance to clients navigating the legal system.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Aibel brings a unique blend of legal expertise and cultural understanding to her role and is a great addition to the team.
